Climblock Rotor wall offers perpetual rock climbing
Climblock Rotor wall offers perpetual rock climbing: "Indoor climbing gyms have brought the sport of rock climbing into the indoor spaces of dense, boulder-less cities, where traditional rock climbing would be impossible. The next generation of indoor climbing seems to be focused on cramming climbing equipment into even smaller spaces. The case in point is the Rotor dynamic wall from Climblock, which replaces the vertical wall with a rotating drum."

Ultra-efficient 4,000 mph vacuum-tube trains – why aren't they being built?: "In the 1800s, when pneumatic tubes shot telegrams and small items all around buildings and sometimes small cities, the future of mass transit seemed clear: we'd be firing people around through these sealed tubes at high speeds."

Boeing 787 Dreamliner struts its stuff at Farnborough International Airshow
Boeing 787 Dreamliner struts its stuff at Farnborough International Airshow: "Qatar Airways unveiled its brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner today at the Farnborough Airshow in the U.K. as the aircraft took to the skies for the first time in a flying display. The impressive demonstration of the plane's maneuverability was marked by steep climbs, tight banking and a "touch-and-go" landing, but perhaps the most striking feature of the 787 in flight (after an afternoon filled with the roar of jet fighters) was just how quiet it is"

Jeep revisits its past with the Mighty FC concept
Jeep revisits its past with the Mighty FC concept: "Between the years 1956 and 1965, Willys (and subsequently Kaiser Jeep) built a vehicle called the Jeep Forward Control. Its cab-over design allowed it to have a full-length cargo bed, while keeping its overall length to a minimum – this made it more maneuverable than would otherwise be possible. Jeep and Mopar have now teamed up to revisit the Forward Control, in the form of the Jeep Mighty FC concept."

World's largest paper airplane flies over desert
World's largest paper airplane flies over desert: "At a length of 45 feet (13.7 meters), a wingspan of 24 feet (7.3 m), and a weight of 800 pounds (363 kg), Arturo’s Desert Eagle is claimed to be the largest paper airplane ever made. Its design was based on that of a much smaller paper airplane, created by 12 year-old Arturo Valdenegro of Tucson, Arizona. Valdenegro was the winner of a contest held by the Pima Air & Space Museum, in which children competed to see whose airplane could fly the farthest. A team of engineers proceeded to recreate his winning plane on a grand scale, and last week managed to fly it after releasing it from a helicopter over the Arizona desert."
